Baste Stitching Two Layers Together

Baste Stitching is just a fancy way of saying that I used a really large/long stitch to hold two layers together. When you baste two pieces of fabric together it’s a quick way of putting two pieces of fabric together with a stitch that can easily be “plucked” out (if you needed to unpick the stitch that is). Because I am using multiple layers of fabric to make this dress, I don’t want to get stuck with having the fabric shift around when I’m sewing it together. So I added the really simple step of baste stitching the layers together to make sure that they stay in perfect position.
